Tranquility With Tea
a service devoted to quieting minds, opening hearts, soothing souls

Sunday Evening, January 25th at 6:00pm
In the Fellowship Hall
Central United Methodist Church
233 North Church Street
Spartanburg, South Carolina

Our prayerful and meditative reflection – Reflection on Martin Luther King, Jr. … and the Dream Still Unfolding has been created and will be offered by Mary L. Thomas, CEO – The Spartanburg County Foundation and Elder – Cornerstone Baptist Church.

As we continue pondering “Who Is Our Neighbor” and becoming neighbors, we will celebrate Dr. King’s birthday by revisiting his dream – how far we have come and how far we’ve yet to go.

A portion of the offering has been designated for the Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership and Community Change – a fund managed by The Spartanburg County Foundation – recognizing a deserving leader, annually, for leadership involving critical issues in the Spartanburg community.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SHARING THIS TIME TOGETHER!

Who is Our Neighbor?

Sacred Traditions And Rituals
a call to connection
Reminds You to bring a Friend or two and join us, Sunday evening

Who is Our Neighbor?
a service devoted to meeting and being neighbors

Sharing the evening with us will be our Neighbors from The First African Methodist Church … just up the street!  We will hear the voices of The Amplified Praise Choir and learn more about The PowerHouse – a community hotspot for area students in the Northside Community of Spartanburg and an Outreach Ministry of the church.

Our sack-gift collection for this, our first service of the New Year, will include items beneficial for the PowerHouse … multipurpose printer paper, mouse pads or individually wrapped snacks – such as cookies, chips, juice-drinks.

After the service, plan to linger-a-bit over a cup of coffee; glass of tea and a nibble-or-two – the perfect time for questions and conversation.
